Upload XML-download of your eID

If you are unable to read your eID data via the browser plugin, you can also download your eID data. You can do this by following the instructions below.

1. Install eID Viewer

In order to read your electronic identity card, you need to install the eID Viewer software on your computer. You can find it here: https://eid.belgium.be/en/

2. Open your identity card with eID Viewer

Once the eID Viewer is installed, you can insert your identity card into the connected card reader and open the eID Viewer program. The program reads the data from your identity card and displays it on the screen.

3. Save your .eid file

In eID Viewer you can now save your identity card via 'File' > 'Save As'. Save the file in a place where you can easily find it.

4. Upload your .eid file
Drag your eID file from step 3, or click here to select it.

Your file is too large, maximum allowed size is: 1MB

5. Comfirm your data

After sending the file, you will need to check and comfirm your details on the next screen.
